Are UV Dosage Feasible in OpenFoam?

I am new to OpenFoam and CFD programs in general and want to model a UV reactor, for water treatment. I've done some searching and could not find an example of OpenFoam being used to model UV intensity but I know other CFD programs can. I am willing to put in the work to learn the software; however, this is specific problem I want to solve and if this outside the capabilities of the program I would rather find that out now.

Appreciate any feedback.

Hi Rob,
It has been a long time, but did you manage to perform this modelling in the end ?
Thanks,
Luis

Luis,

I never did figure it out. It should be possible but I didn't have the time or resources to write the custom code I believe would be required. In the end I stuck with calculating dosage with an average intensity * time in reactor but not using a CFD program.

Good luck to you and drop me line if you do figure it out.

Rob
