Hi

I am simulating a blast wave and is interested in the amount of reflection at the boundaries after the shock front passes through. Is there any way of quantifying this reflection?

thanks

S.

You could sample pressure as the wave passes over, then use the wave propagation speed and propagation distance to estimate the time it will take to hit the probe again (I'd set up some ranges of time to sample for max values). Then take the ratio of the two values to approximate the reflection. I did something like this for surface waves before and it helped me quantify boundary reflection. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but hopefully gives you some ideas.
