Using existing data with a refined mesh

Hello,

I'm using icoFoam to solve a 3D problem, and the simulation has to run for a long long time to get the steady state solution. But now I would like to refine my mesh for accuracy, but without starting all the way from the very beginning.

My question is, how can I use the steady state solution of 'U' from the unrefined mesh for the new refined mesh? I don't want to start again from scratch with the refined mesh, so I'm hoping I can somehow use the steady state solution from the unrefined mesh as an initial solution for the refined mesh.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,
you can use mapfields for that:
mapFields coarseCase -case refineCase
you can also look at user guide, it will help.
