Hello guys,

I need to run splitMeshWithSets on a geometry that i created because splitMesh doesnot seem to be working since i need to convert 2 internal faces to boundaries. Can you tell me how to do it or can you suggest an alternate way of doing it??

This is really important. Thank you for your help.

Try to use the setsToZones-utility to convert the sets to zones (I think splitMesh handles those). Also have a look in $FOAM_UTILITIES/mesh/manipulation for the utilities having baffles in the name

Bernhard

BTW: was it about this that you tried to send me a private message on the board? As a matter of principle I only use the parts of the message board that are public

Thank you so much for your reply.

I tried splitMesh on one face and since the second face is just a hole on this face, i dint use any mesh manipulation on it. Now the problem is that the solution explodes in the first timestep itself (floating point exception).checkmesh showed 2 checks failed. Then i tried increasing the mesh size ( now it is too big and is of no use to me) and it runs for a few time steps and then explodes. can you help me with this?

I created the geometry in gmsh and converted it to openfoam using gmsh2ToFoam.
