Schemes for strictly bounded scalar fields

Dear Foamers,

I have problem to understand the schemes definition of strictly bounded scalar fields (e.g. limitedVanLeer, limitedGamma or limitedLimitedLinear).

What does the bounds, e.g.for
limitedVanLeer -2.0 3.0;

really mean? Are these absolute bounds of the scalar, e.g. does it mean that the scalar is bounded between -2.0 and 3.0 for this scheme or is this a limiter to damp the oscillation of the scheme? So does it mean I can use a scheme like
vanLeer01
for scalars with values betweens 0..1 (e.g. mass or volume fractions) but not for turbulence properties (e.g. k, eps or omega)?

Thanks in advance

I would like to know that either. Have you already figured out or can someone help?

Cheers
