Hi everyone

I'm very confused about the wall functions. Im running rans models with the epsilonWallFunction type boundary condition for epsilon. When this type of bc is chosen epsilon should be calculated as epsilon = (C_mu^0.75*k^1.5)/(kappa*y), where y is the cell centre for the cell closest to the wall.

My question is: If i choose the WallFunction type boundary condition, is epsilon always calculated as above or is it dependent of y+ and switched off automatically in OpenFOAM? According to theory wall function type bc's should be used when y+>30. I tried to check in the code but my skills in programming is really poor.

Thank you all in advance

Eric
