My first OpenFOAM Project
I recently began a simple project to dip my toes into OpenFOAM. The parameters are as follows:
A 10-m steel pipe with an inner diameter of 0.05 m and an outer diameter of 0.06 m is used to transport water. The inlet temperature of the water is 10 C and the ambient temperature is 60 C. The velocity of the water is 0.1 m/s.
I want to solve for the temperature of the water at the outlet and the height of the water as a function of the pipe's length.
I have successfully installed OpenFOAM and Discretizer, completed the OpenFOAM User Guide, and built several simple meshes using Discretizer; however, I am now at a standstill. I found very little usable information via Google on flow through pipes and/or conjugate heat transfer. Anything to get the ball rolling would be much appreciated.
Take a look at the above link for conjugate-heat-transfer. Hope this helps !
