Hello everyone,

i am new to cfd and openFoam.

I tried to use the fluentMeshToFoam command to convert a Fluent-Meshfile into a openFoam format, it didnt work!

Message:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
wrong token type - expectet int found on line 0 the punktion token ')'
file: IStringStream.sourceFile at line0.
From function operator>>(Istream&, int&)
in file primitives/ints/int/intIO.C at line 69
FOAM exicting

I read that this only works with an ascii-File.

How can i find out if my file is ascii or binary?
Is there a possibility to convert a binary in an assci-file?
Can anyone tell me what went wrong by interpretting the error-message?

Thanks for your help

Hi Fabian! I saw that this post is quite old, so maybe you have already found out.
Anyway, that happened to me too. It's because of your file format. You should convert it from binary to ASCII. There is an appropriate command for this in Fluent, i think (when you do the export mesh).

Hope this helps

Marta
