Greetings Mr Phong and welcome to the forum!

You seem a bit lost... the OpenFOAM version you are using isn't the official version. Most likely, you are using the fork openfoam-mswin.
And the problem you are having has already been addressed on this thread: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...r-windows.html - see scroll down to the posts #10 and #11!

Best regards,
Bruno

phongstar July 6, 2010 02:52

Thankyou Bruno!
I will refer it. I want to ask you a question?
I don't know the function between OpenFoam for window and OpenFoam for linux is similar or not?
If i use the Open Foam for window i can use full function like OpenFoam for linux.

Best regards,
Phong

wyldckat July 6, 2010 04:38

Greetings Phong,

Well, openfoam-mswin has limited functionality. You can try using it until you reach its limitations.

The official Linux version (available here: www.openfoam.com) has the full set of available solvers and utilities. For a quick start with the Linux version, you'll be better off with the Ubuntu 10.04 version: http://www.openfoam.com/download/ubuntu.php

There is another variant of OpenFOAM, named OpenFOAM-dev, that has additional functionalities on top of the official version, available here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/openfoam-extend/files/
It even has a sweet DVD image that has that version pre-installed and ready to use!

In case you are interested in full OpenFOAM capabilities in Windows and don't have time to loose, you can also resort to low cost paid solutions available by:
If you do have time on your hands and don't want to invest in a paid solution for Windows, you can also follow the guides available that explain on how to cross-compile OpenFOAM under Linux to run in Windows. Both links above have links in them to those instructions!

Best regards,
Bruno

Greetings Phong,

I'm sorry, I should have posted the link to the thread that explains on how to use the Kubuntu DVD: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...d-kubuntu.html

And if after following the steps on that thread you still get problems using it, please use that thread for asking how to use it, because they know the DVD much better than me!

Best regards and good luck!

Dear Bruno

this is two case which i had run OpenFOAM

Greetings Phong,

As for Windows, it seems that you are using the openfoam-mswin project... anyway, start reading from this post: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...tml#post234151 - post #10

As for KUbuntu+OpenFOAM-dev, I have no clue as to what is going wrong :( Like I've said before, I haven't used it yet. Possibly you didn't run blockMesh prior to icoFoam. And also like I said before, you better ask on thread for the KUbuntu DVD: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...d-kubuntu.html

Best regards,
Bruno

phongstar July 22, 2010 20:10

Thank you very much Bruno.

I will ask someone in the thread for the KUbuntu DVD: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...d-kubuntu.html

Greetings Phong,

I've just tested the Live KUbuntu DVD with OpenFOAM-dev and I had no issues.

Then I re-read the output you posted and then it hit me:

You are trying to use OpenFOAM 1.5-dev to run the tutorials from OpenFOAM 1.6 or 1.7!! And unfortunately, that is a big no-can-do :( You cannot use cases that have been prepared to run with OpenFOAM 1.6 or 1.7 and expect them to work with OpenFOAM 1.5 or even 1.5-dev!!

Best regards,
Bruno

Mr Phong

Notice that blockmeshdict is used when it comes to modelling by means of OpenFOAM. You are not supposed to focus on blockMeshdict when you have your own model obtained from other softwares such as Fluent, SolidWorks etc.
