thermal resistance / thin layer

Hello,

is there a possibility to modell a "thin layer" or "thermal resitance" at an interface?

For example, imagine 2 metal plates and in between is an insulation material (100 times thinner than the plates). Now i would like to create a modell only out of the 2 plates (it would be a pain to mesh the thin layer).
Then i would like to the tell the solver to consider a thermal resistance at the interface. Is this possible in OpenFoam?

Thanks in advance

Toni

Hi Toni,

I have had the same problem, but because it's not so much important for me I didn't try it further. Maybe this link may help you:
