fluid to solid heattransfer with chtMultiRegionFoam
Hi,
is it possible to make the heattransfer from a fluid- to a solidregion with the chtMultiRegionFoam solver. My case runs good when I have a "solidheater" but it doesnīt work in the other direction! Has anybody an idea? thank you! schteff |
Hi,
what do you mean by "in the other direction"? |
Oh sorry,
I have hot air in one region and I want to simulate the heattransfer through two solid regions into a water region. My proplem is, that the solid regions hold the temperature of the beginning. Do I have to modify the boundary settings? I hope you understand the problem. schteff |
Hi,
to avoid other misstakes in my mesh, I tried to solve my problem in the multiRegionHeater tutorial. My question is now: Is it possibleto heat up the bottom-air-region and simulate the heattransfer through the solid-regions into the topair-region? (without heating the heater-region) I tried it, but the solid-region hold theit temperatures! (1000s simulated Time) thanks schteff |
Hi,
Quote:
I heated the solids (300K) with the topair fluid (600K at minX). After 1000s i got a max Temperature of the bottomAir domain of 309 K Not sure if these values are totally physically correct (especially because the mesh is very coarse). But the solution tends in the right direction :) Regards, Toni EDIT: Oh, by the way, I tried it with chtMultiRegionSimpleFoam. But I think it shouldn't make any difference. |
thank you,
yes it works :)! My thermophysical properties were the problem!!! Donīt know why! because I just copied from the tutorial... with sutherlandTransport it works a bit better! |
