Hi all,

I need to do a mode analysis for a simple mechanical problem. From the manual, it does not appear that openFOAM has a ready solver for this.

Before I start digging into C++ code I want to ask if anyone has used openFOAM to for mode analysis ? Any hints on what classes would be more useful ?

Obviously, I would need to load a mesh, and I would need to use matrices to store operator coefficients, but I am not sure yet whether I can use already existing code to create the coefficient matrix or whether this needs to be done from scratch.

thank you

Hi volodya,

are still working on that eigenvalue thing? Did you come to a solution with openFoam?

No, I did not have time to make much progress. My last issue was finding a nice way to transfer between shapes drawn with FreeCAD and what openFoam can accept.

best
