openfoam-paraview problem

hello forum
i am trying to use openfoam to do some simulation.
when trying to run the first example i ran into a problem with paraview.
in the tutorial it says i should adjust some options at the region status as seen in figure 6.1 at the user guide.

but in my paraview i cant find such option, i only have mesh parts, volume fields, lengrangian fields and point fields.

does anyone knoe how i can set this (when i try to look at the results for the lid driven cavity case i cant see any gradients in the interpolated p).
just as a comparison this is what my object browser looks like:http://lh6.ggpht.com/_I5S1KuQD2ZQ/TI...reenshot-1.png
and this is what it looks like in the tutorials:http://www.openfoam.com/docs/user/img/user507x.png
thanks for your help

Hi,

Try changing the time at the top left to be 1.

You have it set to 0 and probably cannot see anything because of this.

On a seperate note, does anyone know how I can show the surface mesh in the motorbike case, coloured by pressure on the body, but then also show streamlines?

It seems that I need to cache the mesh and select the mesh to have the streamlines, but then it tries to colour the mesh itself when I colour the motorbike.

Is there a way that I can apply colour to the motorbike, and then have the streamlines created from the mesh region, without needing to show the surfaces of the mesh (sidewalls, inlets, outlets etc...)

Regards,

Scott

thanks scot

i am not currently at home
but i played with the time last night and still only saw something in the u field and not in the p field.
what does the region selection do anyway and is there another way to select a region?

The documentation is older than paraview 3.8. As you can see, the options under region status are the same as the options under mesh parts, and the proper option (internal mesh) is already selected. So with paraview 3.8 you can just skip that step.

Don't worry about it, there's a lot to learn after all.
