Hi,
does anyone have a reference list with scientific publications relating to interFoam or/and OpenFoam? I found a whole bunch of conference papers, countless presentations, and a few PhD-thesis, but I'm rather looking for peer-reviewed papers in journals or books. I also found the list on Prof. Jasak homepage http://www.h.jasak.dial.pipex.com/index.html, but it would be nice to have more. Kindest regards! |

Hi,
recently I found some publications about interFoam. At first I would recommend Henrik Rusche's Ph.D. Thesis. You can find it on http://powerlab.fsb.hr/ped/kturbo/OpenFOAM/docs/ . Chapter 4 is mainly about interFoam. Prof. Jasak's Ph.D. Thesis from the same website is about OpenFOAM in general and the FVM method. Then I read some of these papers. The last one is a textbook. [1] Brackbill et al.: A Continuum Method for Modeling Surface Tension. J. Comput. Phys. 100 (1992), pp. 335-354 [2] Gopala, Wachem: Volume of fluid methods for immiscible-fluid and free-surface flows. Chem. Engineering Journal 141 (2008), pp. 204-221 [3] Versteeg, Malalasekera: An Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics, The Finite Volume Mehtod. Pearson (2007), 2nd Edition I hope this will help you for the moment! Lars |

Thanks Lars!
In my opinion the Versteeg and Malalasekera book is one of the best CFD-FVM books and the papers are also quite good, but I have already understood more or less the used techniques and there is no lack of scienfic papers, that relate to the used methhods. Hence, I'm personally already convinced of the capabilities of interFoam/ OpenFoam. I just need some publications, that bring interFoam/ openFoam, let´s call it, in "scientific context". |

Oh, I'm sorry! You are looking for some papers and scientific work where OpenFOAM/interFaom is used to simulate different problems.
I don't know in which field you are working but if you have a look at www.sciencedirect.com and type 'OpenFOAM' in the search function, you will find round about 100 papers. Some of some are about numerical methods, some just used OpenFOAM. Best regards, Lars |

Friedrich, the best paper to date about interFoam is the one from Edin Berberovic,
http://pre.aps.org/abstract/PRE/v79/i3/e036306 Regards.
