Also this error message is displayed when paraview starts.

Greetings to all!

Maysam, try removing this file: ~/.config/ParaView/ParaView3.8.0.ini
Then try running ParaView 3.8.0 again. If this doesn't work, then Nima is probably right about having to re-build ParaView. But the correct commands are:
Code:
cd $WM_THIRD_PARTY_DIR
./makeParaView
Best regards,
Bruno

I have the same problem. Removing the ~/.config/ParaView/ParaView3.8.0.ini did not help.

Did the re-installation of 3.8 solve your problem?

Thanks,

Mirko

Hi Mirko,

Mmm, have you tried removing "~/.config/ParaView/ParaView3.8.1.ini" instead?
You might also want to check what's inside the folder "~/.config/ParaView" and/or remove it completely, since there might be some other file that is somehow disturbing ParaView... although a bit odd that such a thing could happen.

By the way, which version/package of ParaView are you installing or have installed?

Best regards,
Bruno

I am using 3.8.0.

Removing the ~/.config/ParaView folder fixed it. Thank you.

As I replied to Bruno, I solved the problem. But just for my info, did you
  • download a new binary, or
  • installed from source
Thanks,

Mirko

In case others are having this issue as well, I had the same problem. I am using Ubuntu 11.04 and installed the OpenFoam 2.0.0. The installation originally installed ParaView 3.10.1 which I had to remove and install the ParaView 3.8.1-2ubuntu3 version which seems to have solved the problem. I tried reinstalling 3.10.1 and 3.8.1, but neither of those worked. If it stops working I will let you know.

Greetings Ryan and welcome to the forum!

Did you try removing the folder "~/.config/ParaView"? This has worked before for others, as indicated in the post #9.
If you did try this and it didn't work, I would like to know so I can investigate this issue further!

Best regards,
Bruno
