cuba and GSL integration

Hi,
I am trying to use numerical multidimensional integration as hannes did in his FGM solver.
please tell me how i could compile this library. http://janus.fms.uni-rostock.de/view....6.x/3rdparty/
I am writing a solver for FGM for nonpremixed combustion.
I appreciate your advice.
Kind Regards,
Farshad

Hi,
sorry i forgot to ask where the location of
CUBA_ARCH_PATH is?
Thanks

Hi

Have you looked through this post?

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...ion-model.html

Can you tell me some reference from which I can find some theoretical details on the FGM model?

flamelet generated manifold

Hi Nakul,
I learned about FGM by googling flamelet generated manifold. I noticed that this method was first introduced by a university in Netherland as i remember and I realized that this method is an alternative for the method of unsteady flamelet progress variable approach which is developed by pitsch(same philosphy but different implementation and discussions). FGM is alittle different from other flamelet methods and this is the only flamlet method which its openfoam code is available and i hope that we could extend it to nonpremixed combustion cause the original version by Dr hannes Kroger is written for premixed combustion and i had to read all of his code sentence by sentence and this code teaches me alot......
I also want to add some term for nonunit lewis number case to study effect of differential diffusion on flame temperature distribution.
Thanks,
farshad

Greetings to all!

@Farshad: this is a really interesting extension package! I haven't tried building it, but I believe it should work with OpenFOAM 1.6-ext. If you look in this folder of that repository you posted, it has a README file. The instructions seem to be outdated, but should still apply to the 1.6-ext version (-Extend Project version), or at least 1.6.x (official version).
Either way, have a look at the script Allwmake in that same folder; it has the commands for building both Cantera and Cuba.

Additionally, you might also want to ask about this in the forum at http://www.extend-project.de; they might be interested in integrating the LTTRostockExtensions into 1.6-ext and there you might be able to round up some people/volunteers to get the job done... or at least assist you with the integration process. At least I hope the -Extend Project is already at that pace of development!
The other possibility is to contact the developers responsible for LTTRostockExtensions and see if they are willing to work together with the groups at Extend!

Best regards and good luck!
Bruno

Hi all,

Indeed, the library is a little bit outdated. But it should do the job with version 1.4.1 and 1.5-ext (also 1.5).
Actually ,we are porting the library to OF Version 1.6-ext and 1.7.1.

@ Farshad: to run the ILDM approach with presumed PDF, you need the complete library with all the chemical stuff inside. Please look at:

http://janus.fms.uni-rostock.de/view...ockExtensions/

Btw, don't take the source files from the branches folder, some of them are buggy!

Last year, we moved the library and all stuff related to it, to a new server.
As soon as possible, I will publish the new address.

best regards

Matthias

Hi all,
Thank you very much for sharing your experiences and i appreciate openfoam community very much. I just compiled hannes kroger code with openfoam1.5 and it gave me lots of errors. I did ./Allwmake and i hoped that it compiles cantera and cuba as well but it didnt make a single binary file!
I have attached the log file.
please help me.
Kind Regards,
Farshad

Hello Farshad,

Were you able to resolve this issue and install Cantera and Cuba in OF?
I've just started looking into this (I am using OF 1.7.1), and if it works out, I'll let you know.

Thanks!
ak
