Kai Velten

Hello,
does anybody know this book?
Mathematical Modeling and Simulation: Introduction for Scientists and Engineers, written by Kai Velten.
I need some help with OpenFoam and I've find this book. I use CaeLinux as well, but I'm a starter with this program. I have some experience with other comercial CFD packages... Can you recommend me something?

Thanks in advice!
Hope you can help me

Hi,

If you need help with OF, you may specify the specific problem that you come across and somebody on the forum would be able to help you.

I deal with free surface problems, but my main problem with OF is starting.. I'm a beat confused with the fact that there is no GUI, I would need some help sith sintaxis

Then the best solution is to start with some tutorial cases. You can find a lot of them in the tutorials folder in your version of OF. A few are explained in greater detail:

If you're dealing with free surfaces, you should definitely have a look at the dam break case.

Hi!
I know the book and I'm working with the author of the book as well. Take a look at the title of the book! It is Mathematical Modeling and Simulation: Introduction for Scientists and Engineers.....not Manual of OF.
You will find a lot of stuff about different areas of modeling and simulation in it, but the book is not only limited/focused to cfd........
I hope, this helps.
Don't hesitate to contact me for a question about the book or to get in touch with the author of the book.

@nakul: Definitely, you are right!
