Hello,

I have a problem. I want to use ansysToFoam, but the application doesn't run. After "Create Time" appears on the display nothing happens ...
Can someone help me?
Or some other hints to convert a mesh, produce with TurboGrid?

I'd try exporting as a .msh file in ASCII (search the forums to find out how) and use fluentMeshToFoam

.gtm is not supported as far as I am aware for ansysToFoam, it is for .inp I think. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Hope this helps!

Dear RalphS
Convert the mesh from TurboGrid to fluent mesh format which will give the mesh in .msh extension say fluent.msh. Copy this fluent.msh file in to your directory and use command fluent3DMeshToFoam fluent.msh.
It will work.If still any problem then we will see it.
Take Care

I know this is an old thread but I am interested in this same conversion. I have a .gtm mesh that needs to be converted for use in openFoam. Anyone know how to get this done?

I'm also interested in this. I'm not sure how to convert turbo grid meshes into a format that can be converted to an openFoam readable mesh. If .msh is what I need how do I export a .msh file from turbo grid? Thanks!

hello,

Export in .msh (ascii format !). Import with fluent3DToFoam.
If you can't export as a .msh, send to Fluent, then save as .cas (still in ascii !). You can import the .cas with fluent3DToFoam.

regards,
olivier

Hello,

Thanks for your response - I could only output files as .cgns and .gtm I have no idea how to open these again in turbo grid or to convert the mesh to something my solver (openFoam 2.3.1) can read...
