I am looking for the any material for chtMultiRegionFoam. I want to understand the .C and .H files of chtmultiregionfoam. can anyone suggest me any guide book or any other related material for chtmultiregionfoam, please?

Thank you very much for reply.

I am doing simulation for partical partical interaction under applied external electric field. I have to investigate the electric current distribution on particle surface as well as surrounding fluid area. If you have any suggestion, please inform me. Both spherical partical are not in contact. electric potential applied acroos two sphere. I want to find that how much current will transfer from the one particle to fluid and from fluid to onther particle.

In chtmultiregionfoam, the heater and fluid region geometry define in .setSet file. In that, the "cellToBox" commad used and it is for box type geometry. but what about for sphearical geometry? how we can define the sphere inside the cube? I want to define two different sphere as the solid body and surrounding fluid as fluid region.

I think Maddalena was being modest and did not want to reference her own threads!

As far as your multiRegion Mesh, I followed the "Cht tutorial in 15" at around page 3 where psosnows does a really good job explaining how to get around the .setSet file (which I don't know how to use) when creating solid and fluid regions.

****Keep in mind that i just started using OpenFOAM and i'm not an expert in any way, shape, or form. I'm still trying to figure it out. I had to read "Cht tutorial in 15" several times to understand a multiregion mesh.

P.S. I have seen several threads dealing with a similar topic as yours... i'll try to see if i can find them. Initially, i found them by chance, but i'm sure they are around.

if you create your mesh with a specific software (Pointwise, Gambit or what else), you can create the model as for fluent and than use the following:

fluentMeshToFoam myMesh.cas -writeSets
setsToZones -noFlipMap
splitMeshRegions -cellZones -overwrite

This will create the two regions you need.

Hello Friends

I am trying to run chtMultiRegionFoam by typing the ./Allrun in terminal window in Openfoam 1.7.1. But, when I looked in VTK folder, there is five different regionname folder is there and every folders contain only one region_1.VTK file.
My question is: When I run the tutuorial MultiRegionHeater, I have to consider some other things or I have to change anything in that tutorial? because I run that tutorial for 200 and also try for 400 sec. but, execution time is same for both case and VTK folder contain same file. So, i think program is not running upto end.
so, is there any speacial treatment for postprocessing or require some change in boundary condition or what?

can anyone give me suggestion, please?
