Dear Foamers:

I hope all of you are fine.

I am trying to solve the particle from 0.1 micro-meter to 100 micro-meter using Lagrangian tracking method. But even the time step is very small, the particle doesn't move .

I used the numerical method which is in icoLagrangianFoam to evolve the particle motion and for the flow field, I use LES.

I guess maybe the accuracy in the space or time is not enough.

Would you please give some advice on it or some better numerical method for particle tracking?

Hi flying,

How do you inject your particles?
I remember I had some problems because my particles were initially exactly on a boundary while it's better if they are slightly inside the domain.

Thanks for your reply. I was trying to solve the problem for these days, but it is sad that I am more confused.

I am sure it is not the problem of injecting particles because it runs well in the single processor, but it has some problem when it runs paralleled. In paralleled running, it has to give much smaller time step.

I try to identify the executing process. I find it doesn't call the "bool keepParticle = p.move(td)" in "voidFoam::Cloud<ParticleType>::move(TrackingD ata& td) " in the file of "Cloud.C".

It doesn't call the function of "bool HardBallParticle::move(HardBallParticle::trackData &data)" in the "HardBallParticle.C". But it is more strange that the particle still be carried forward.

Would someone give me some advice on it?
