Laplacian and 1D flow

Dear All,

I was working a bit with OpenFOAM with 3D cases but recently I came up with an idea of simplifying some of my problems to 2D or even 1D cases. At the moment I am doing, "fully developed" Couette flow with two phases, just to get the velocity profile.

Thoeretically this simplifies the equations of motion. Is there any way to implement this? I am looking at UEqn.H of interFoam and I would like the laplacian terms to have only d/dy^2 terms.

Also, perhaps I am abusing OpenFoam by trying to make it essentially a 1D solver. Please let me know what you think.
