I am planning to export my flow solution ( my own code) through legacy VTK format
My problem is flow past a sphere. I have plotted the necessary stream lines etc using VISIT. But I couldn't visualize sphere in the problem. My question is How to visualize surface data in paraview/visit.

Initially I exported all cell data in unstructured mesh format
Then when I tried to use poly data in the same file it is giving error

My visulisation software is Visit /paraview

Pls help

Try to plot the scalars in VISIT

Add------>Volume------->scalars

hopefully this may work

Paraview will have some filter called Extract Surface. Try that. It will give you all boundary surfaces. Then you may have to clip the domain to get only the boundary you want.

Alternately, write out only the surface elements and associated solution to vtk file.

Thank you
But I need to visualize the stream lines as well as the sphere. When I tried to extract surface stream line disappears (paraview)
