Updating openmpi

Hello all,

I am using OF15-dev and openmpi-1.2.6 and I am trying to run cases parallel using PBS.

There seems to be some error with the --machinefile <hostfile> option in this version of openmpi and I want to update my openmpi to version 1.4.1. I tried to compile it and change settings.sh in OF/OF15-dev/etc but there were some library issues when I tried to run the cases.

Has anybody done this before or knows how to do it?

Some OF libraries depend on MPI (e.g. PStream), so you'll have to recompile those too after changing your settings.sh to point to the new mpi directory.

So what is the best way for me to do this? Get a new version of openmpi, change version of openmpi in settings.sh accordingly and recompile OF? Or instead of recompiling OF I will just recompile Thirdparty?

Recompiling ThirdParty will not be sufficient. You have to recompile all libraries you were seeing issues with, so I think the best option is just to recompile your entire OpenFoam over night.
