Question to chtMultiRegionFoam

Hi,

is it possible to freeze the velocity field as steady-state and solve the heat transfer as transient?

This is what I want to do.
The velocity field is built very fast so that I can say it is steady state. That's because auf high flow rates inside my room.
The heat transfer is slower, thus I have to solve the heat transfer as transient.

Does someone has experience with that?

Hi!

Have a look here:

and especially:

Maybe that could help? I just remembered these postings, don't have personal experiences with that...

Ciao

Thank you for the two links.
I will read thorugh them!

I recieved a private message.
There was the idea to set it up as follows:

I will solve the case with f.ex. simpleFoam, so without heat transfer and steady state, to get the velocity field.
Than start the same case with a heat transfer solver, transient with the starttime = enttime of first case.

I will try! :-)
