Question about blockMesh and decomposePar

Hi, everyone.

I am using some pre-processors of OF to generate mesh for parallel computing. As there are more than 10 million cells (for DNS), the memory needed by blockMesh and decomposePar is larger than the memory of every computing node.

My question is, can I run blockMesh (or snappyHexMesh) and decomposePar in parallel? So that the memory needed at every node is acceptable.

Any message is welcome. Thanks.

Greetings Yong Wang,

A little searching on this forum and you would have found out that:
  1. blockMesh cannot be executed in parallel.
  2. snappyHexMesh can be executed in parallel.
Here's an example thread about this: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...ion-cells.html

Best regards,
Bruno
