Grid conversion from Pointwise to OpenFoam

Hello everyone

I am new at OpenFoam. Can anyone explain me how to convert grid from Pointwise to OpenFoam step by step ?

Pointise has option to directly export grid for OpenFoam. So I think there is no need for any conversion.
All you have to do is to create the mesh properly in openfoam and you are done.

OK. But I have very complex grid which is generated in Pointwise. So, I want
to use it directly in OpenFoam by just conversion.

Pointwise "knows" the OpenFOAM format.

Under the CAE menu, select "Select Solver" and choose OpenFOAM.

Re-check your boundary patch types and make sure they are what you were hoping.

Select all of the blocks and go to File --> Export --> CAE, navigate to a run directory, choose the "polyMesh" folder in the "constant" directory and click export. Wait a minute or two, Pointwise will create the faces, points, owner, neighbor, .... files that OpenFOAM needs.

Hello,

Thank you for your explanation. But still there are some confusion. Sorry but I am new at this work station.

OK. For example I have mesh file from pointwise.

Then I make case directory in OpenFoam then create empty constant, system, and o(zero) ones.

Also polyMesh in side constant. Then what to do next ???

Then you go to Export in pointwise. May be it would say export "Solver Data" ..
And then you go to the case directory and export the mesh.

You don't have to go anywhere else you just export your mesh in the case directory and it will automatically be exported in 0 folder or the contant/polymesh folder.
