Sampling Skewness of velocity field
 

I need the skewness of the velocity field. Has anybody already done this? I think the best way would be to include the sampling of mean(u_i*u_j*u_k) in fieldAverage.C. May be there is a better way for doing that?

Allright I will answer myself to close this topic. Sampling of Skewness and Kurtosis seems to be a bit tricky in fieldAverage.C. But one can use snapshots of the velocity field (ensure enough time between the snapshots to avoid strong corelations) to calculate the high order statistics during the postprocessing. I wrote a tool for that, which works really fine.
