Hello!
On the screenshot you can see patches 'walls' (violet), 'outlet_cold' (green) and 'side1' (blue). I'm trying to figure out how to determine correct boundary layers for vortex tube. I need layers for patch 'wall', but only on 'side1'. It's applies also on outlet_cold. So the question is how to remove additional layers on connection of 'side1' and 'outlet_hot'? Normally you can control whether the layers collapse on angled patches or not by adjusting the "featureAngle" in addLayerControls.
Problem here is, this setting will probably either collapse the layers or not on both adjacent faces, as there is a angle of 90 deg at both. Only possibility I see here is to split the 'walls' patch, make a small stripe at the end in front of 'outlet_cold' where you do not extrude layers on. Then the layers from 'walls' will collapse right in front. Make sure that stripe is as wide as at least one cell size there, otherwise it might get swallowed during mesing and then the setting is ignored. And use multiRegionFeatureSnap true; if you don't already. I don't open links to external sites here. |
