rishibigghe is on a distinguished road
I am using alternateSteadyReactingFoam for my case, which is simulating a jet of methane mixing in air. I don't have to implement the chemical reactions i.e. simple mixing without any combustion.

Even when i switch off the chemistry in the chemistryProperties file, the solver solves for the chemistry until unless the reactions are deleted. The main problem is CanteraError. Since, I dont have to use the chemistry, I can either switch off chemistry or not put any reactions. Switching off chemistry does not help. and when there are no reactions in .cti file, the simulation crashes with CanteraError. I read on some forums that this error occurs because of overspecifying the reactions. But i tried 3 sets of reactions - 1) single step reaction, 2) 2 step combustion, 3) 4 step combustion. And everytime it crashes at different time interval.

Kindly help as to how to resolve the error issue. If you require any particular file to be posted, let me know..

Thanks in advance, awaiting a reply.

Rishi
