Mesh quality when using snappyHexMesh

Hi,
When I examined the mesh produced in the motorBike tutorial (using paraView) I was surprised to see irregularities of highly distorted cells.
Aren't those expected to reduce the accuracy of the calculations and if that is the case, is it possible to avoid production of such cells?

Hi,

Wonder if my reply is a little late. I'm a new OpenFOAM user and have been poking around some functionalities, fascinated by snappyHexMesh and is trying to learn. Having the same situation when I used sHM to mesh an aircraft geometry for external aerodynamics - lots of "messy" cells viewed in Paraview. However, some other threads seem to indicate that the 'apparent' poor quality is due to Paraview's inability to handle polyhedral mesh - and the viewer will attempt to interpret every cell as tet or hex. Hence some apparently poor cells may be produced.

Cheers!
