sizamil is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone,
this is the first time I use this forum, so I hope I posted the thread at the right location.
I'm new to OpenFOAM, so please bear with me.
I was trying to compile a solver by using the wmake utility, and terminal outputted the following:

Making dependency list for source file interFoam.C
SOURCE=interFoam.C ; /usr/bin/g++ -DdarwinIntel64 -DWM_DP -arch x86_64 -fPIC --sysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.5 -Wall -Wextra -Wno-unused-parameter -Wold-style-cast -O2 -DNoRepository -ftemplate-depth-40 -I/Users/sizamil/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/src/transportModels -I/Users/sizamil/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/src/transportModels/incompressible/lnInclude -I/Users/sizamil/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/src/transportModels/interfaceProperties/lnInclude -I/Users/sizamil/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/src/turbulenceModels/incompressible/turbulenceModel -I/Users/sizamil/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/src/finiteVolume/lnInclude -IlnInclude -I. -I/Users/sizamil/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/src/OpenFOAM/lnInclude -I/Users/sizamil/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/src/OSspecific/POSIX/lnInclude -Ddarwin -c $SOURCE -o Make/darwinIntel64DPOpt/interFoam.o
cc1plus: error: unrecognized command line option "-fsysroot"
make: *** [Make/darwinIntel64DPOpt/interFoam.o] Error 1

now the solver that I wanted to compile was interFOAM which is already supplied with the OpenFOAM package, and the computer I'm using is a mac ( version 10.5.8), so it should theoretically work ( everything else has, so far )
can anyone tell me what the problem is ?

thank you in advance,

mturcios777 will become famous soon enough
The error seems to be related to the compiler on your system not recognizing an option. I've never done it myself, but compiling OF on a Mac requires its own finesse. Best to search for threads about compiling OF on a Mac to see if anyone else has had this issue.
