installation and tutorials
Hello.
I am a complete OpenFOAM novice, and would kindly like to ask a question regarding installation and usage of openFOAM. I installed openFOAM using a pre-compiled .dmg and setup_foam.sh file (http://www.ifd.mavt.ethz.ch/educatio...foam/of-macosx). I created a directory ~/OpenFOAM/images/ so to avoid having to change any of your scripts. I then issued the commands, and setup_foam, and it apparently works. Here is the message: Francesco-Ferronis-MacBook-Pro:~ MacbookPro$ setup_foam expected CRC32 $CC188D9D /dev/disk1 Apple_partition_scheme /dev/disk1s1 Apple_partition_map /dev/disk1s2 Apple_HFSX /Users/MacbookPro/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x /dev/disk2 GUID_partition_scheme /dev/disk2s1 EFI /dev/disk2s2 Apple_HFS /Users/MacbookPro/OpenFOAM/MacbookPro-1.7.x From this, I get a OpenFOAM_1.7.x and a MacbookPro-1.7.x image on my Desktop. The MacbookPro-1.7.x is EMPTY. (Is this normal?) As I'm a novice, predictably I went to try out a few tutorials (i.e. the cavity flow http://www.openfoam.org/docs/user/cavity.php#x5-40002.1). The first command it says to issue is: cd $FOAM_RUN/tutorials/incompressible/icoFoam/cavity However, running this prompt via Terminal.app, I get that there is no such file or directory. So perhaps it is something wrong with my installation or am I being a complete tit about something else? Thank you again, Kind Regards, Francesco |
Greetings Francesco,
I don't have access to a Mac so all I can say is this:
