Hi all,

can anyone tell me detail procedure for converting .msh file to openFoam file. i have no idea how to convert msh file in to openFoam file. i have created .geo and .msh file but have no idea about how to convert and how to use that file.

It's easy:

1.) Move to your case directory. That's where constant, system, 0 subdirectories are located.

2.) Run command gmshToFoam <path_to_your_*.msh_file>. Or you can just copy msh file to your case directory and run gmshToFoam filename.msh.

3.) At the end you need to edit the constant/polymesh/boundary file, where you have to set you patch types (e.g. wall, empty, ...) and change defaultFaces face type to empty.

Later I can post detailed description for an example case.

Question paraview not working properly

Hi all,

i have run the simple cavity problem with icofoam but one of my classmate has a problem with paraview.. when he enter the paraview in terminal window after run successful prerequisite command for cavity problem and when open the paraview interface he is not able to find that cavity.OpenFOAM file. can anyone tell me what's the problem? or he had made any mistakes in installation of paraview. he is using openfoam2.1.0 and paraview 3.12.0.
