Bubble column on modelling Openfoam
Hi,
I am setting about modeling a partiqular type of bubble column involving an electrolytic solution, and I am trying to select the right CFD sofware to achieve this. The package would have to be able to model mass transfer, heat transfer and of course the fluid flow profile. This is my first time using CFD, and therefore the most user friendly software would or course be prefered. Also my budget for achieving this research is not very big, and therefore if there was open source software that could be used it would be best. If anyone has any tips or advice for me it would be hugely appreciated. Thanks! |
Hello chemical engineer.
A bubble column has been simulated before with OpenFOAM. There is a tutorial case called bubbleColumn. For the theory, you should read the Henrik Rusche's thesis. Download it from http://foamcfd.org/resources/theses.html If you want to start with OpenFOAM, you might go to the OpenFOAM Workshop, where they give excellent introductory courses: http://www.openfoamworkshop.org/2012/OFW7.html Have fun! |

Find it in
- OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.0.x/tutorials/multiphase/bubbleFoam/bubbleColumn - OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.0.x/tutorials/multiphase/twoPhaseEulerFoam/bubbleColumn PS: you can find this yourself if you type: Code:
find -iname bubbleColumn |
