surface streamlines

Hi,

how can I plot surface streamlines in Paraview? I've tried to use surfaceLIC of wallShearStress but it seems not to work. I am using a MacBook Pro and Paraview version 3.10.1.

Thanks

Did you solve this? I am assuming you want to make some sort of representation of the shear stress on a surface. I am assuming your data comes from OpenFoam's wallShearStress utility. Some tensor representation of the shear stress would be better than mapping the scalars independently.

I can generate a vector (only 3 components) using OpenFoam's sigmaxx, sigmayy, and sigmazz. However, I am not sure that this calculated vector is correct as these might be in local coordinates to the surface. But the process of putting the stress components into some sort of vectorial representation must start in this way. I used the "calculator" filter from paraView. My shear stresses come from using openFoam's utility (stressComponents).
