Hello,
ParaView crashes when I try using surfaceLIC plugin. I've also tried to run the test.xml available in ParaView 4.0.1\bin\Lib\test\xmltestdata but that gave me a crash as well. I read that it might be related to driver version of the graphical card. Currently, I have the following: - paraView 4.0.1 for Windows 7 64bits - Ndivia Quadro fx 1800 with driver version 8.17.12.5922 Does someone knows about a combination which work? I've also tested paraView 3.14.1 and some earlier versions but without success. Or is my problem related to something else? Thanks, Eloïse |

Hi Eloïse,
If you mean the file "lib/python2.7/test/xmltestdata/test.xml", that's not a valid file for ParaView. Try with the attached VTK file. And choose to use the "cell data U", as shown in the attached image (lower left corner, in the entry "Vectors"). Best regards, Bruno

Hello Bruno,
I have the same error message "Runtime Error" with the vtk you provided. I'm quite sure the error is not due to the vtk files I'm using: I formatted my computer recently and it's since then that I don't manage to use LIC anymore. That's why I'm thinking more about compatibility issues between Paraview version and drivers. Any other idea? Thanks, Eloïse |

Hi Eloïse,
I honestly can't figure out how old or recent that driver actually is I used the form in the drivers section of the NVidia website and got this as the proposed driver: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/quadr...driver-uk.html If this latest driver fails to work, and since your using a Quadro, you should be entitled to dedicated support from NVidia. Best regards, Bruno

Problem solved.
If someone has the same issue, here is a combination which worked: - paraView 4.0.1 for Windows 7 64bits - Ndivia Quadro FX 1800M with driver version 9.18.13.2086 Eloïse |
