Selection and visualization of all points on a connected isosurface

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

Is there a way to view only the points connected to an isosurface that goes through a specific location? I have created some isosurfaces within a flow field, and I'd like to highlight some individual surfaces, rather than have all of them display concurrently. For example, in the attached image the dark blue represents a vorticity isosurface. I'd like to view just the cylindrical isosurface on the right hand side, and remove the remaining isosurfaces from the viewer. I've tried creating a box around the location of interest to clip out the rest of the flow field but this is rather tedious.

Thanks,
Adam

Greetings Adam,

I'm not 100% certain if I understood what you're trying to do, but I think the following steps should do the trick:
  1. Apply the filter "Connectivity" to the contours entry in the "Pipeline Browser".
  2. Once applied, it should have identified the connected surfaces with the field "RegionId".
  3. Now apply the filter "Threshold" to the "Connectivity1" entry and choose the IDs you're looking for.
Attached is an image that demonstrates this, where on the left display is only 2 isosurfaces and on the right are all isosurfaces. As you can see, only 2 are shown, according to the ID range I chose, as shown on the lower left controls.

Best regards,
Bruno
