Mass flow through plane calculator

Hi guys

I have a surface that mass flow at a certain area of the surface is going at one direction and on the rest of the surface area the flow is going on the opposite direction. How can I calculate the individual mass flow rates?

Thanks

Hi Milidon,

If you for instance have a flow in the x-direction, one appraoch could be to first apply a calculator to compute the flow i this direction (Scalars -> U_X), to this you can apply a threshold filter on the surface to filter out for instance the flow in positive x-direction. To this threshold filter you can thereafter apply an IntegrateVariables filter to compute the volumetric flow. If you want to have the mass flow you can just adjust your calculator and multiply the velocity with the density, and if you want to compute the flow in negative direction you can just adjust your threshold filter. Hope that this solution helps you.

thats exactly what I wanted, works fine
