I am simulating the wave equation in paraview. The source function that I use to generate waves in my FEM simulation, is of a fairly low magnitude. When I view the vtu file in Paraview, it shows the mesh as navy blue, and the waves are whitish blue, with few contours of light red. Even when I rescale, I don't get much. In some cases, waves are hardly visible. How can I achieve higher color contrast while not altering my source?

Thanks a lot for your time and help!

In the paraview gui there are two different ways I can think of that you can achieve the rescaling your looking for.

1) If you click on the sideways colorbar with the green circle directly to the left of the auto rescaler in the toolbar, it will bring up a window that allows you to set where you want the different color levels to occur. This can either be done with your mouse on the "Mapping Data" graph at the top, or if you scroll down there should be a table allowing you to physically put in the values.

2) In the same menu you can click on the folder with a heart on it that is to the right of the "Mapping Data" graph. This will open up a window that will let you pick different color presets. If you pick one with more color change, ex Rainbow Desaturated, it will help you better visualize your solution.

Hope this helps.
