flow simulation

Hello, I'm a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, I'm involving in a research about using Phoenics in order to analyze the flow around a ship hull with propeller, Can you tell me some suggestions? After analysis, how can I display flow field?

Thanks in advance. BartYing

Re: flow simulation

Bart,

Phoenics allows you import a ships hull with propeller from a number of drawing packages, or create the geometry yourself with the software.

The software comes with its own post processor viewing software, it comes in 3 form1

1) Autoplot, allows plots of one variable to another, like a graph in excel.

2) Photon, this alls the user to plot any data the user wants.

3) VR veiwer, this is a virtual reality viewer, the user can 'walk through' the model and look at different result feilds.

Phoenics also has the capcity to have insert pieces of fortan code, incase you a investigating some special feature of the ships hull and or your own equations for what ever you need.

I hope this helps.

Leon
