I want to use PHOENICS3.3 to solve the two-phase reactional flow field in a rotating combustion chamber. when I try my simulation, I meet some questions:

(1) the sove rotating combustion chamber is shown in geometry.stl in attachment. I gained this STL file through AutoCAD 2000,When I import it in VR(Under Cylindrical Polar coordinate system) the Cylinder distorted, while under Cartisan coordinate system the geometry shows correct. Can everybody tell me why?

(2)How to DRAW a circle outlet which center is parallel to the Z axial?

(3)Combustion and flow in the rotating combustion chamber consist very high pressure(>10MPa). Its temperature is about 1800K . And swirl also is very strong. I want to employ SCRS(EBU) model and k-e model to simulate, can I get good result?

Eager for your advice! Thanks.

I can't anser all the questions, but here is my 2 cents on bit I can help with.

(2)How to DRAW a circle outlet which center is parallel to the Z axial?

Under the oject propoerties, change the default geomentry to a circle. Then rotate the clipart using the bottom tool < 1/24 >. Go through the options and you will eventually find the one you are after.

(1) Maybe the stl file is too large. Try importing other shapes into the cylindirical coords, it maybe that the axis are differently aligned ? or something simple that maybe piked by importing other simple shapes.

Hope this helps.

(1) how to ¡°Draw¡± the outlet circle under VR environment when I construct the geometry of my model in Polar cylindrical coordinates? I know BFC can solve it well and I wonder why PHOENICS can¡¯t solve such a simple geometry.

(2)I want to construct STL model can correctly used under Polar cylindrical coordinates, can you give me some advices? (3)I gained the STL file of the model through AutoCAD 2000, When I import it in VR(Under Cylindrical Polar coordinate system) the Cylinder distorted, while under Cartisan coordinate system the geometry shows correct. Can you tell me why?
