Hi
I'm just beginning to use the Phoenics and I want to simulate a moving ground wind tunnel test for cars. The important in these tests, beyond to check turbulence, is to get the figures of lift and drag and the center of pressure. I know that there is no built in function to calculate both drag and lift, but does anyone have done the code? Can send me or help me how to implement it? |

Hello,
Actually we have a Special-Purpose-Product (SPP) for this type of analysis, called the F1 VWT. It was created for the F1 in Schools Programme as a representation of a virtual wind tunnel for school children's model car designs. The geometry is imported from CAD (PTC's Pro/Desktop) and the usual flow regimes are shown, including lift and drag within the results file. As I say, this is an educational subset of PHOENICS, but I am sure we can provide you with the right coding for your own version. Contact me at CHAM via pls@cham.co.uk, providing some background information and contactdetails please, and I'll see what I can do. Yours, Peter |
