use outlet as inlet

Does anybody know if it's possible to use the resulting outlet conditions in a model as inlet conditions at the other side of the model?

What's your question about? I guess, probablly, what you need is the Cyclic Boundary Condition.

It does sound like you need to use the XCYCLE option, which in effect links the first and last X planes. The POLIS Encyclopaedia entry on XCYCLE gives more info. In VR-Editor, you can turn it on from Main menu / sources.

If the flow is fully-developed, the Encyclopeadia entry 'Fully Developed Flow' http://www.cham.co.uk/phoenics/d_polis/d_enc/fdf.htm gives details on how to proceed.

Karin,

If my memory serves me correctly this is covered in the turtorials on doing some coding in ground.

The one I remember links the input to a outlet directly to the output of an inlet - to simulate a fan operation.

At the moment I dont have access to POLIS to provide the link.

Hope this helps, Leon
