HI i am new phoenics user, i just wondering if someone can give me an idea how to plot velocity vector 45 degree from any plane.

to be precise, i use a rectangular flow field that has wind flow direction 45 degree from x axis, but as far as i know we can only plot on x-y, x-z and y-z plane. can we plot in deifferent angle of plane?

regrads, herry

Dear Herry

I feel, while assigning inlet velocity, please resolve the velocity component in Vx, Vy & Vz.

I hope it helps

Thanks

Vikas

Hi Vikas,

My problem was not about the velocity direction (vectors) but is about how to get a velocity vector in a plane that ,say, othogonal with plane x-y and has an angle of 45 degree with x-z or y-z plane.

I do not mean to compare with CFX post processor, however, in cfx we can define a plane such that by using three points in 3d coordinates to make the plane.

Anyway, thanks for your help cheers, herry

you can use material 299 to simulate angled thin plates http://www.cham.co.uk/phoenics/d_pol...t/ang-plt1.htm
