Thanks

Hi, there are many customers using PHOENICS/FLAIR for wind analysis. Such applications include urban street canyons, flows over hilly terrain, wind farm placement, flows around masts and towers, etc. You will need to be a little more specific about your requirements I'm afraid. Some references can be found within the PHOENICS Newsletters (click on www.cham.co.uk and then NEWS) with others available upon application to CHAM.

hi I am a complete novice in CFD,did a introductory course in cham last month.i am interested to use flair for predicting indoor conditions and its comfort index. I am at present trying to simulate the effect of using a strategy, that takes the external air thru a pipe to below the ground ,cooling it by heat exchange with the earth and then supply it to the room. The objective is to find the resultant temperature in the room. Another strategy is to use a higher chimney, connected to the roof, which is heated by the sun to create, a bouyancy driven movement and perhaps even a passive driving force for the air that is channelled tru the earth as in the above strategy. Is there any one who can help me with this and give tips? I also have a problem with using immersol model ...when it is on, the solver doesnt work?if its put off, it works!!

Regarding the immersol radiation model it is very possible that you have not set this up properly, it is not particularly easy to do so.

Can you look at the bottom of the your result file. Load it into an editor and see what it says at the bottom of the file. This may enlighten us somewhat.

Thanks Mick! The Solver stops in the middle, even while running the cases from the flair library ' i had been trying to solve a small tutorial called 'a room with radiators'. i am pasting the bottom of the result file.............................................. .... --- INTEGRATION OF EQUATIONS BEGINS ---

GROUND called from NONE & FLARGR but no setting made. Please check. Patch name = IM6 Variable name T3 INDVAR = 139 f index = 184276 f value = GRND GROUP NO= 13 SECTN NO= 17 vals IY= 1 1.0 1.0 IX= 14 18

It will be great if you could tell me whats wrong in the setting.

Soory for the delay in response, I did not notice this posting.

This looks like a source is trying to be set but no code exists to handle it??

As its a tutorial case this sounds unreasonable. Please tell me what version you are using, this is found from \phoenics\d_allpro\version.

Cut & Post the Q1 as well.
