Slot jet in cross flow.
 

Dear sir, My name is hamdy, a teacher assistant in faculty of engineering, Ain shams University, Cairo, Egypt. I have shoratge of data in my research as i make secondryair flow injection in main air stream, the injection is from slot jet of 0.85mm width and 6cm length issuing from 9.5mm cylinder diameter and 40cm length fixed on test section of 30cmX30cm dimensions and 50cm length which lying in fan suction side.The 6cm slot length is parallel to cylinder axis. My research is about flow charcteristics of this flow field, only single wire is available in our lab, which means that I can not measure u & v velocity components, so, we thought to measure far downstream the cylinder say at x/D=5,10,15 & 20 (D:cylinder Diameter) the tajectory will be of high U component and low Vcomponent to be neglected, the cylinder is lying at the half way of flow which means 15cm from both top and bottom walls,R=Vinj/Vmain. I hope that you may kindly help me kindly in determining the suitable R and x/D's for experiments of this problem specially that the availale remaining time for me is not much and i am a beginner in CFD.
