studying the topic of passive scalar transport, how can I get the variation of the turbulent flux of the scalar by autoplot.

By turbulent flux, do you mean the correlation between fluctuating scalar and fluctuating velocity?
If so, each flux component in direction i is given by the product of (-enut/prt(c1))*dCi/dxi. Therefore, you can compute the turbulent scalar flux vector by using user-generated FORTRAN coding in GROUND or by the use of PLANT, or alternatively you can introduce the appropriate formulae in the Q1 inout file via the INFORM facility. |

Thank you Mr Mike, I know this modelisation of the turbulent flux but I asked if there i any option in PHOENICS to get it directly without the use of plant. and Thank you once more

There is no way to get it directly from the input file, but as mentioned already you can generate the flux with recourse to GROUND or PLANT by the use of the INFORM facility in the Q1 input file. It is documented here:

that should have said "without recourse to FORTRAN".

Yes, one of my main problems with PHOENICS is that all the variables are not terribly easily accessable. INFORM helps if you're using the latest version(s) of PHOENICS. In my Phoenics 3.4 calcuations, there are some quantities I cannot access, such as the cell-by-cell residuals. I'm told this can be done in 3.6 with In-Form.
I've been trying to write a general .phi file access code (in visual basic and IDL) which will allow one to pull out data into tabular format or .sylk (spreadsheet) format. So far it works for 2-D cases. I have chemistry problems with upwards of 20 or more species, so the VR-Editor doesn't allow easy comparisons. In-Form helps, but, as I said, only on the latest versions of Phoenics. |
