Default Creating pressure in a pipe.

Hi,

I am trying to run a simulation in PHOENICS which in theory I would have thought is easy to set up but I have been having lots of problems with it.

The model is of a 2D simulation of compressible air flowing through a square rectangular duct (40mm). At the outlet I have set a B.C. of fixed pressure at 50PSI (344737.9Pa). I am trying to get the pressure in the duct to be around 70PSI (482633Pa). I have tried varying the size of the outlet, (height, z-direction), to create a build up of pressure but this does not seem to be having the desired effect.

I am unsure how you can set a B.C. at the inlet to give the required pressure in the duct. I have tried setting the domain fluid at the required pressure but this as yet has not worked. I have also tried setting a mass flow rate (density of 70PSI (5.736kg/m3), cross-sectional area of the inlet, and fixed a volume of 30m/s). Should you set the density at the inlet as well or not?

Any help with this problem would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Alex
