MESHING A complete wing setup with SLAT,WING,FLAP for ACOUSTICS

Hallo Friends

I am looking for different block topologies for aeroacoustic meshing.Strucutred mesh is needed so i find it difficult to get a topology..So if anyone has come across kindly help me ...we are using our own meshing code...which needs the block data with its coordniate points..so I need the blocking topology for the complete setups...then I can do rest of it....Thanks in advance.....

For more information about aeroacoustics meshing for a slat-wing-flap geometry, please see this Connector article. Here we describe the meshing process and topology for the NASA 30P30N 3-element in the high lift configuration.

Hi

Hi Friend

I saw that already, but the problem in my case is our code is a 7 point based code. And I think this mesh is for LES simulation where its very fine everywhere..But for me my solver is RANS solver and also the step size affects. So is there any other topology which suits for aeroacoustics..???
It would be nice if I can get those...This topology for sure will not run for my case...
Thanks a lot.....

The topology that tcarrigan points to in the article is not necessarily for LES. Yes, the number of grid points is probably more suitable for LES but the topology should be generic. Simply use a similar topology with fewer grid points. Or at least you can use that topology to give you some ideas to get started.

As you know there is no simple "recipe" for structured meshing and it's up to the user's imagination to find the best block topology. I've always taken the approach of seeing what others have done first and then build off of that.

Let us know if you get stuck and have some questions. And a picture is worth a thousand words so post one if you can.
