How to output GridGen mesh to Adina-F?
Anybody knows?
If just by generic, then in Adina-F, how to read it? Thanks a lot. |
Re: How to output GridGen mesh to Adina-F?
Hello,
I looked around ADINA's web site and couldn't find a list of their supported file formats. But I'm going to guess that they read NASTRAN bulk data files (since it's a de facto standard) so try exporting your grid that way. That's in the I/O commands, Grid Points, Blocks. Hope this helps. |
Re: How to output GridGen mesh to Adina-F?
Thanks for response. But, in Adina, you can import ***.nas instead of ***.grd file (the file you got it from GridGen is with ***.grd).
How to solve this? |
Re: How to output GridGen mesh to Adina-F?
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying, but it sounds like you exported grid points to a NASTRAN file and the file's extension is GRD and not NAS. Furthemore, I infer that Adina either can't or won't import the NASTRAN file unless it has a NAS extension.
Therefore, why not just rename the file from grid.grd to grid.nas (for example)? Let me know if I misunderstood. |
Re: How to output GridGen mesh to Adina-F?
Your undersatanding is right.
I changed the file extension, but it shows the following message in Adina: ***WARNING: All subcases are translated. ***INPUT ERROR: No coordinates defined. How to solve it then? |
Re: How to output GridGen mesh to Adina-F?
I think the folks at Adina will have to answer this question. Perhaps they can tell you what those error messages mean. Also, they might be able to tell you exactly what their level of NASTRAN support is.
